Vivien de Jong
After many years “ doing something useful “ I bought three tubes of paint – and a brush – and went to a beginners water colour class at the YWCA. The Bridge City Artists formed in 1971. For many years we enjoyed instruction by Rolf Krohn. More recently the group has benefited from workshops by Iris Hauser, Clint Hunker, Dagan Lindner, Kevin Quinlan and Louise Cook. I have also attended workshops with Graham Flatt. I paint mostly in water colours. Every year I try to explore new aspects of colour, composition and technique in order to develop my skills as an artist. The brilliant colours of the prairie landscape and the grandeur of all of Canada are a great inspiration adding to my pleasure and satisfaction in painting.
